The Dviale Gemini 2 wireless earbuds capture the sound of the Dviale Phantom speaker in a smaller size and take the sophisticated sound to the next level.
Briefly Speaking,
Debialet Gemini 2 wireless earphones are more luxurious and beautiful than their predecessors, creating a deep, rich sound reminiscent of Debialet Phantom speakers or high-performance wireless headphones.
It offers excellent noise cancellation performance, good ambient sound monitoring, and clear call quality.
In a word, it's a high-end wireless earphone that delights both the eyes and ears.
Rather than numerical specifications or modifiers, Devialet Gemini 2 is just proving with its sound.
That's why I want to listen to these earphones.
Exterior & Main Features
: A luxurious appearance that inherits the identity of the Devialet Phantom speaker
The box, which stands out for its vibrant orange hue, shows a photo of the Devialet Gemini 2 wireless earbuds, as well as the modifier "Permeable Sound."
"Permeable Sound" means "a sound that permeates the mind."
Key features of the Devialet Gemini 2 wireless earbuds are listed on the back of the box.

Components include a charging case containing the wireless earphone units, user manual, ear tips, and USB-C cable for charging.
Eartips come in a total of four sizes. The soft translucent silicone eartips have an elliptical cross-section and overall shape of the core.
When worn, there is less pressure on the ear canal, and it is soft and has a good feeling of adhesion.
The charging cable that comes with it is a short A to C type USB cable.
The brief instruction manual provides instructions on installing a dedicated app, how to pair the earphones, and how to properly wear the earphones.
The operation of the touch control unit is also guided with an intuitive picture.
Let's take a look at the changed appearance of the Devialet Gemini 2 wireless earbuds.
- The Devialet Gemini 2 wireless earbuds come in three different colors: Iconic White, Matte Black, and Gold. The model I've experienced is the Iconic White model.
- The base material of the charging case is white plastic, and the center of the case is coated with silvery and shiny chrome.
- The "DEVIALET" logo is engraved in the center of the front and just below it is an LED hole.
The cover and bottom are treated with a curved surface with a stepped shape, making it look slimmer.
A round button for "pairing" or "factory initialization" can be seen in the center of the back of the charging case.
The hinge looks wide and strong.
There is also a built-in wireless charging unit on the back, so you can charge it wirelessly by putting this side on the wireless charger.
The floor is heavily printed with information on various certification marks, model information, and charging standards.
There is a USB Type-C charging terminal in the center of the floor.
The exterior of the Devialet Gemini 2 wireless earphones is really cool.
Chromium-plated couples are silver glossy cotton in bare eyes.
With black background paper, the black background is reflected and looks black.
The Devialet Gemini 2 wireless earphones that resemble the Dviale Phantom speaker are stored inside.
The charging case is definitely more compact than the first-generation product, and you can also see an alphabetical mark that separates the storage locations of the left and right units.
The space for accommodating the earphone unit of the charging case is a perfect fit for the shape of the unit, with four spring electrodes on the left and right sides.
The design of the Devialet Gemini 2 wireless earbuds mimics the appearance of the Devialet Phantom speakers.
Of course, it cannot look the same as the speaker, but you can see at first sight that it has the same design identity.
Unlike its predecessor, the microphone hole on the side has been changed to a large metal grille.
In addition to improving the sound-receiving ability of external sounds, the wider grill-shaped microphone sound-receiving part also serves to reduce wind noise.
When worn, the microphone hole facing down the side is also much larger than the previous model and has been changed to a grill.
This part also plays a role in improving the voice-receiving ability and reducing wind chords.
There are also two symmetrically small holes on the side, but there is no detailed explanation of whether it is for acoustic tuning or for hybrid noise cancellation. (I think it's just a hole for acoustic tuning.)
The inner face of the unit is made of soft curved surfaces. It looks like a simple form, but it is said to have an ergonomic structure applied to optimize the fit.
In addition, a wear sensor and four charging electrodes are also located.
The Devialet Gemini 2 wireless earbuds have a distinct identity that sets them apart from any other wireless earbuds, and overall they are very luxurious and beautiful.
Most of all, it is impressive that it is housed in a smaller and compact charging case and unit while improving sound quality and performance compared to the first generation.

TRY TO EXPERIENCE
■ The charging case supports both wired and wireless charging
The charging case of the Devialet Gemini 2 wireless earbuds supports both wired and wireless charging, just like the first generation. And it became much lighter and smaller.
While charging, the LED on the front lights up white.
When the earphone unit is stored in the charging case, the front LED lights up for a while and displays it in a different color depending on the battery remaining level.
The LED is less referenced because the battery level can be found in the app with a more accurate number.
■ Bluetooth pairing
▶ Entering Pairing Mode
(1) When the first cover is opened, the earphones will automatically enter Bluetooth pairing mode.
(2) If you want to pair additional devices while already paired, press the button on the back of the charging case for 3 seconds and the LED will flash and enter pairing mode.
The device name being searched is "Devialet Gemini II".
If you select a Bluetooth device searched(Devialet Gemini II) on your smartphone, DAP, or laptop, pairing will proceed automatically.
▶ Bluetooth connectivity is stable outdoors.
In very crowded areas or in some spaces where there is supposed to be a radio disturbance, there have been a few cases where the connection is temporarily disconnected and reconnected.
However, in most cases, they maintained stable connectivity without any problems.
■ Light and comfortable to wear
The DeViale Gemini 2 wireless earbuds are lightweight at 6g per unit and are fairly small in size, comfortably seated inside the earlobe when worn.
If you choose and wear an ear tip that fits your ear hole, it feels like it adheres well without strong pressure on your ear canal, and as a result, the sound insulation is better than it looks.
Good adhesion and sound insulation also seem to play a role in its excellent noise cancelling performance.
■ Convenient use of dedicated apps is a must
The Devialet Gemini 2 earbuds also offer the "Devialet Gemini" app.
When you first activate the app after pairing the earphones, you must select the product and register it according to the app's instructions.
Along with the images, the app also kindly guides you on how to wear the earbuds correctly.
▶ App's main screen
On the main screen of the app, you can see the display of the device connected with the image of the Devialet Gemini 2 wireless earbuds, the battery level display of the left and right units, the Noise Cancellation and Ambient Sound Mode selection tabs, etc.
At the top left/right, you will also see icons entering the additional settings menu.
With the earphones in the charging case and the cover only open, the image below shows the remaining battery capacity of the charging case and the remaining battery capacity of the left and right units.
While charging, you will also see an icon indicating that they are in charging condition.
▶ 2 Settings Menus
Click the settings menu icon at the top left to see the submenu items below.
- Change products, My Account, Update, Help, Evaluating apps, About
Click the settings menu icon in the upper right to see the submenu items below.
- Product Name, Equalizer, Stereo Balance, Touch Control, Smart Pause
- Multipoint connection activation, tips, my product information
▶ Touch Control Settings Menu
The left and right touch buttons can also be set by the user to match each function for one tap, two tap, and long press action.
* The list of features that can be set for each touch action is as follows.
Note that you cannot change the settings for increasing or decreasing the volume by pressing and pressing twice.
▶ Audio Settings - Equalizer Settings
Equalizer (EQ) settings provide six preset settings and one user setting (custom).
The six Preset Equalizer (EQ) settings are as follows.
- The sound changes are also evident with each equalizer setting.
▶ Audio Settings - Stereo Balance
Depending on the person, the left and right hearing may vary, and in certain sound sources, the left and right balance may be wrong.
In that case, it is necessary to adjust the balance of the left and right volume levels.
Stereo balance can be adjusted by "1" and left and right channel bias can be set up to "100" levels.
■ Outstanding noise-canceling performance at this point
The Gemini 1 showed excellent noise cancellation performance among wireless earphones at the time, and the Gemini 2 shows again very high level of noise cancellation performance among wireless earphones at this time.
Gemini 2 is said to be capable of noise cancellation up to a higher frequency band than third-party wireless earphones through IDC (Internal Delay Compensation) from the first generation.
In particular, Gemini 2 detects and corrects changes in the user's ear shape, wearing condition, and environment in real-time through the "adaptive noise-canceling" function, so it is impressive to maintain optimal noise-canceling performance and sound quality at all times.
▶ Superb noise cancellation - 40dB level is not just an exaggeration
Actually, the noise-canceling performance felt by the ears is very good.
I think it's comparable to headphones that have outperformed noise-canceling performance.
The level of noise inflow is controlled very low, which helps you focus more on work and reading in your daily life, and allows you to focus on listening to music anytime, anywhere regardless of the surrounding situation.
- Air conditioner noise, copier noise, coffee machine noise, etc. are reduced to almost inaudible levels
- A lot of noise is eliminated to a level where ambient noise sounds very small, especially low-frequency-range noise
- Noise from bus engines, fighter jets, etc. coming out of the window is also eliminated impressively
▶ "Ambient Sound" mode is a natural level and monitors wider frequency range
In "Ambient Sound" mode, ambient sounds sound at a natural level, close to being heard directly by the ear.
However, since the middle and high-pitched areas are monitored in a relatively wide range while filtering out the noise in the low-pitched area, the surrounding noise from the middle to high-pitched areas is relatively emphasized in situations where there is a lot of surrounding noise.
- This is not a functional drawback, but it feels relatively so compared to hearing low-pitched noises at the same time.
■ Better left-right balance of battery consumption
In the first generation of Gemini, the balance of battery consumption timing in the left and right units was very different, so users complained of inconvenience.
When the Devialet Gemini 2 was fully charged and then used until the battery level dropped to 12%, the difference between the left and right battery levels remained at a maximum of 4%.
You can see that the left and right battery consumption is clearly better than the first generation.
■ Good call quality - improved voice-receiving performance
I think the sound quality of the phone call has improved. As the area of the microphone hole increased, it made voice pickup more natural, and the other person could hear my voice well even when there was environmental noise around me.
And, there was no difficulty making calls even in the windy outdoors.
* For your information, you need to get used to the fact that the music playback/stop function requires one touch, whereas the answer phone and disconnect touch are two times.
■ Support for multipoint connectivity
The Devialet Gemini 2 wireless earbuds also support multipoint connectivity.
The multi-point connection function is a function that you feel uncomfortable if you don't have it after trying it once.
If the multipoint connection does not work, you should make sure that the feature is "enabled" in the app.
The multipoint connection feature is a very useful and convenient feature that feels uncomfortable without it once you've tried it.
■ Superb sound reminiscent of high-performance headphones
Devialet Gemini 2 wireless earbuds inherit the sound features that impressed Gemini 1.
To be more precise, we're right to say that it inherits the sound of the DeViale Phantom speaker.
Although it does not support HRA-class high-quality wireless audio codecs, the AAC codecs alone provide a cleanly refined sound across a wide range, from deep, neat low to clear high notes.
I previously thought that after listening to Gemini 1's sound, it gave the same level of sound quality as when I connected the SHURE AONIC 50 headphones with the AAC codec, and the reproducibility of the deep low-frequency range was better.
In the meantime, I bought the Focal Bathys headphones, which are more expensive than the AONIC 50 and have a comparative advantage in sound.
And now, I can say that my first impression of listening to the Devialet Gemini 2 wireless earbuds was that if I adjusted the EQ a little to suit my taste, it was comparable to using the Focal Bathys headphones connected to the AAC codec.
▶ The first impression of the sound is like this.
- Deep and neat low-frequency reproducibility is still cool
(Similar to Devialet Phantom Speaker's deep, rich feel)
- Dynamics outperform with sufficient power
- Consistent sound tone no matter when the volume is low or high
- AAC codec does not give the impression of poor resolution
- With a relatively large amount of sense in the lower-frequency, the mid-high range also gives a transparent and clear feeling
(Even though the deep low-frequency range tends to be rich, the mid-low range is relatively less emphasized, so the high-pitched range is not masked.)
- The sound is natural and even has a feeling of openness.
- Overall, it's a fun sound that's perfect for enjoying music
- Even songs with a strong instant impact have good transient characteristics and play cleanly without distortion ※ The mid-frequency range felt relatively small in the tonal balance, so personally, it was better to watch it by reducing the amount of low-frequency range slightly |
It depends on the record, but I liked it best to adjust the EQ settings reducing the low pitch by -2dB and raising the 400Hz and 1.25kHz range by just 1dB.
When I set it up like this, Gemini 2 played music impressively deep in lows and neat and clearly in highs like a headphone with a good performance in overall range.
(Among the headphones I have, it's similar to the Focal Bathys connected with the AAC codec.)
Devialt Gemini 2 is exquisitely tuned so that the low-frequency range sounds deep and rich, but does not mask other high ranges, so the volume of the low-frequency range sounds relatively high while maintaining a clear and clean mid-to-high frequency range.
So, it gave a more attractive sound, especially in jazz and crossover records that mainly focused on instrumental performance.
■ Audio delay is shorter than the first-generation
I played a video on YouTube testing the "video-audio latency time" on my iPhone and checked the delay level.
The delay level seen in the test video played with the YouTube app is around 0ms. This is a very low delay level, even considering that YouTube app does a little voice delay correction.
- Even if measured by the equipment, it is assumed to be a very low delay level within 100ms-150ms.
A concluding remark
The Devialet Gemini 2 wireless earbuds feature the deep and sophisticated sound of the Devialet Phantom all-in-one speaker as wireless earbuds with the Phantom's signature design.
The Gemini 2 has a lighter, compact, and luxurious appearance compared to its predecessor, has unrivaled, deep, ultra-low reproduction capabilities, and clear, clean sound without high-quality codecs.
Noise cancellation performance is also the highest level among the ANC wireless earphones at this point.
It is also impressive to monitor and correct individual ear shapes, wearing conditions, and environmental changes in real-time to maintain consistent ANC and sound, which also adds luxury value.
One thing that still feels missing is that the continuous playback time is around 4-5 hours, which is short for the latest.
However, since Gemini 2 must consume more power to perform excellent noise cancellation while running dynamically to the deep-low range, I personally think this amount of playback time is a good one.
Devialet Gemini 2 wireless earbuds are expensive, but you'll definitely want them after you experience them yourself and hear them.
Devialet Gemini 2 is thought to be a high-end wireless earphone with good musical skill and technical completeness that attracts you more and more as you use it.
First of all, it's been added to my wish list personally.
